Does Sensa Make You Lose Your Natural Senses?

Sensa commercials seem to be popping up on tv all the time lately. As usual, all the customers happily share their great experience and how they lost weight.

Now I don't know about you, but I couldn't really figure out what the hook was with Sensa. Basically - how exactly does it work? The ads peaked curiosity so I decided to do some research to figure out what the deal was with Sensa as a weight loss solution.

Sensa is powder that you sprinkle on your food which helps your brain get to the "I'm Full" stage quicker by engaging your sensory receptors. Normally as you eat, your taste and smell senses release hormones which will let you know when you are full. Sensa enhances your sensations so you stop eating sooner.

You need to sprinkle Sensa on everything you eat except for liquids. Also, there are 2 sides to the Sensa shaker for foods that are salty or foods that are sweet. And each month, you start with a new shaker that has a different ingredient combination. The explanation for this was that so your body didn't get too accustomed to the Sensa and more or less not continue to respond well over time. There are 6 months of these blends then if you want to continue using Sensa after that, you'd just start back with the month one blend.

On the Mayo Clinic website, I found some information on Sensa. This weight loss system was developed by a doctor who claims it was proven effective based on a 6 month study. The results showed on average participants lost 15% of their weight.

One more bit of info for you since many of you will naturally want to know the answer to this. Sensa contains none of the following: sugar, sodium, MSG, gluten. And as expected Sensa has no calories.
